Continuing Education Programs
Those interested in ministering in Hispanic/Latino communities may choose to enroll in the Summer Hispanic Institute, a program in which they will spend three consecutive summers taking courses and participating in learning experiences that will prepare them for this work. The Hispanic Summer Institute leads to the Certificate in Hispanic Theological and Pastoral Studies.
The Jesuit School of Theology offers students the opportunity to earn certificates in recognition of a period of successful study at the school. The Certificate of Theological Studies, or C.T.S., can be earned by students who possess a bachelor's degree or its equivalent who complete at least 24 semester units for academic credit (either pass/fail or letter grade) over a maximum of four semesters. The Certificate of Ministry Studies, or C.M.S., can be earned by students who lack the equivalent of a bachelor's degree who complete at least 24 units of course work, at least six of which are taken for academic credit, over a maximum of four semesters. Either certificate is available through Special Student Status or the New Directions Sabbatical. | |||||
