How to Apply

To apply as a Special Student, please provide:
  1. A completed application for admission along with a non-refundable application fee of $50 (U.S.).
  2. Official certification of a Bachelor's Degree (e.g., B.S., B.A., B.S.N.) or any graduate theological degree; for those who intend to take courses for credit, official transcripts are required.
  3. One letter of recommendation, from a person who knows you well, regarding your academic and personal qualifications for study at the Jesuit School.
  4. A brief description of your academic and/or ministerial background, indicating why you wish to study at the Jesuit School and any particular areas of interest you may have.

Although applications for admission are accepted on a rolling admissions basis, applicants to the Special Student program are urged to have their application materials to the Office of Admission one month prior to the beginning of the academic term in which they plan to enroll, as classes typically fill quickly.

Each year, New Directions participants begin with a directed retreat at the El Retiro Retreat House in Los Altos, California. El Retiro has acres of lovely grounds for walking and sits atop a hill with beautiful vistas of the area.
