Our Faculty

The Jesuit School's Ecclesiastical faculty of theology prepares men and women to serve the church as scholars and teachers and does so through excellent example. Our faculty are not only experts in such fields of study as Hispanic theology, Scripture, feminist thought and spirituality; they are also caring mentors whose goal is to aid each student's spiritual and professional development.

The Jesuit School faculty members have attended prestigious universities and theological centers all over the country and the world, including College of the Holy Cross, Institut de Catholique in Paris, Loyola University, St. Louis University, University of California, Berkeley, and Vanderbilt University. They have also conducted extensive research in countless fields relevant to theological study, and regularly publish new material.

Get to know our faculty members a little better by reading more about them. You'll find out about their educational background, their specific professional interests, some of the courses they teach and some of the amazing ways in which they dedicate themselves to serving the Jesuit School community.

Eduardo Fernandez, SJ

"There have been some terrific Jesuits in history, like Father Eusebio Kino, who came out to the Southwest and worked with the lay people to make dictionaries and preserve their indigenous culture. Total care of the person goes back to St. Ignatius, who worked to care for the soul, but not in a disembodied way."
-- Faculty member Eduardo Fernandez, S.J.
