The following quote, attributed to Pedro Arrupe, SJ, inspires and motivates me in my work with the students here at the Jesuit School of Theology; the young women and men who personally sacrifice so much and strive so earnestly and sincerely to prepare for a life of service "to the faith that does justice".

"Nothing is more practical than finding God, that is, than FALLING IN LOVE in a quite absolute final way. What you are in love with, seizes your imagination, will affect everything. It will decide what will get you out of bed in the morning, what you do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, who you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude. Fall in love, stay in love, and it will decide everything."

Sr. Dorothy facilitates theological reflection and works with Master of Divinity students in a mentoring capacity throughout their year long Field Education Placement, where students focus on developing their pastoral skills. Additionally, she works in conjunction with site supervisors to ensure that students are appropriately placed, challenged and affirmed.

Outside of the school, Sr. Dorothy does volunteer ministry with the homeless, poor, and marginalized, especially those living with HIV/AIDS.
