A graduate of St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, OH, Tom has worked for over 30 years as a fundraiser in a wide array of nonprofit organizations at the local, regional, and national levels. After graduating from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism degree, he went to work for the Indiana-based Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration Health Services in the areas of public relations and marketing at its Cleveland, OH-based facility. Next he served as a fundraising consultant for a private firm that worked closely with Roman Catholic Dioceses throughout the United States. Tom worked mostly in Texas where he raised funds to build schools and also to establish an NPR radio station outlet spanning the Texas/Mexico border. He founded the Development Department and worked for seven years as the Director of Development for the Austin-Travis County Mental Health Mental Retardation Center in Austin, Texas.

After relocating to the Bay Area, Tom worked as the Director of Development for a number of organizations including Catholic Charities of San Mateo County, Bishop O'Dowd High School, the National Brain Tumor Foundation, the Hiller Aviation Institute and Museum, the Museum of Craft and Folk Art, Alameda County Health Care Foundation, and as the Associate Director of the Seton Health Services Foundation.

Tom's experience has enabled him to work with numerous donors wishing to establish scholarships, endow special projects, contribute to capital campaigns, and fund critically needed services for individuals and communities.
